Two reasons why I need a PS3... Final Fantasy XIIIFFXII VersusI really like what I'm seeing from this next installment, I've been a big Final Fantasy fan especially since VII came out for the PSone and have familiarity with the games back to the NES. From what I understand these movies are almost completely live action not just cut scenes. Just check out the battle in the first trailer you could almost mistake it for being taken directly from Advent Children. I don't know about you guys but I've been disappointed by recent titles like Halo 3. But looking at what just came out and whats coming out I think we're in a sort of gaming renaissance. With the Wii, next gen consoles, and recent developments in pc technology we're seeing games developed that are far beyond the scope of anything we've seen before. It's the first time I've really needed to upgrade my computer since HL2 came out and advancements in control and game play are simply unbelievable. I haven't installed COD4 or Crysis yet but I'm beginning to wonder if the 8800GTS is up to the task. I dunno about you, but I'm really looking forward to the next few years.

They do look soo nice don't they? The old 8800GTSis nothing like the newer one but should still be pretty decent on both Crysis and COD4...you mainly want to look at your processor when it comes to those. I get around 70fps in multiplayer on COD4 with my 7800GT, and my step dad just got the new 8800GT...he's getting pretty good graphics, not exactly sure what fps he's getting, but it runs smoother, I even think he'd get a lot more if he had a different cpu than the 3500+ lol...but the problem I've seen is that a lot of peeps machines that have the newer cards and pretty decent core 2 duos still don't get very good fps on higher resolutions with settings at max...which is really good when a game scales down really well but still can't be maxed out on todays hardware...can't wait for next fall '08/spring '09...hardware is going to be nuts. FF ftw though I use to play ff2 on the snes...then in early HS I started playing FF1, 3, etc on the PC with emulators...and I own ff4-10 on the PS1/2....11 & 12 were on the PC/internet right? ...can't wait for 13

I can't wait till i get a chance to put some of the new games on my comp. After seeing how it owned 3dmark06, it should be up to the challenge.

From what I'm seeing Crysis can kill anything.

I want to see what mine does as well, I personally loved FarCry. There were people that said it ran 25fps with duel 8800GTX and the high end Intel Core 2 Extreme or what not... I guess it looks like Lego Star Wars on an average machine (and still lags). You should check out some of the physics demo videos on YouTube. It looks absolutely gorgeous if your computer can handle it.

I guess Unreal Tournament 3 really puts some use in the PhysX cards...like it doesn't make it look better, it actually offsets some physics work here and there that gives some extra performance...I wonder what it's going to do for the future...

actually i suggest you run the game to its fullest extent wit your 1 8800GTX and let your card heat up and then purchase my newly developed water cooling system and try it out(no money back or guarentees and i can not be held responsable for your actions) LOL
