that is what people were playing PS3 games on at E3.......and people thought it was ridiculous Microsoft used PowerMac G5's to play 360 games at E3 that thing is a monster.....

another thing was cut from the PS3.....there is no longer a rumble feature in the controller......

this one is not known as fact yet but comes from a very reliable source.......the cheaper PS3 will come with wired controllers and a non-upgradeable HDD.....
there is a strong possibility that if the controllers are in fact wired that the PS3 itself will not even have blue tooth capabilities in the cheaper one.....

havent heard that...the rumble feature i knew about since way back in that lawsuit over the patent on the PS controllers....old news haha but the hdd, and blue tooth....even Sony knows if they take those features out...they might as well not even produce it....it would kill their sales...especially if they produced more of the lower end ones than the higher end ones....

I did not say they were killing the HDD just that you would be stuck with 20 GB's forever with no way to upgrade.....and the blue tooth thing is all but confirmed now on the cheap one

The problem lies in the fact that the PS3 is not made as just a game console...it is a complete Media Center, to replace DVD players, stereo's, etc....rip your music to your PS3's hdd and listen to it through your SRS system in your living room.
You have to remember...Sony is not just competeing with the Wii and Microsoft's 360...but Microsoft Windows XP Media Center as well, possibly even some of the Vista versions...its a Media Center...not just a console. Think..why would you buy a computer to use as a media center, a console that is just a console, or a Blue Ray player...when, you could have them all in one?....catch my drift? lol

haha....
1. consoles have replaced DVD players since forever
2. Xbox has been able to rip music since it was launched same with the 360
3. Because they have no HDCP it is going to be a horrible Blu-Ray player because you wont be able to watch blu-ray at full resolution
4. 60 GB is not enough for a media center....my DVR has a 120GB HDD and THAT is small.....
5. you can not get video content into the PS3 from a tuner which is one of the most basic features of a media center type device
Sony can toot their own horn as much as they want but almost no one is buying it anymore.....you should have heard the way people were ripping on them on CNBC and various video podcast's from IGN and what not.....everyone thought sony dropped the ball.....

......most people still buy DVD players along with a console, or a console after they buy a DVD player, because a standard DVD player has a better interface than the console's do. Xbox can rip cd's...ya, i was just stating what a media center does...duh.....Im still not seeing anything against the PS3's Blue-Ray player...u seem to be the only one against it...at least I cant find anything online that says otherwise....I know 60GB isnt very big...hell most people I know with DVR's have 100GB...and that gets filled up quite fast....60GB is starting...its plenty more than what the 360's offer, and u can upgrade them if you want. And, as far as the video content into the PS3....add-on's will take care of that....yayaya, But thats an extra thing you have to buy....o well. And, as far as everyone goes, bashing Sony and the PS3....im going to laugh when they throw it out and it completely dominates and leaves all you haters behind

1. you can not upgrade the HDD in the cheap one....
2. there have been a million sites complaining about how the PS3 is going to be a crippled blu-ray player because of the image constraint token
3. the 360 you can just plug in a USB HDD into the 360 and there you go upgraded HDD
4. if it is an add-on it is not part of the console.....so you can not just say addon's take care of it when it should be included in box if they want to be more than just a game console

first off...how do you know you cant jsut plug a USB HDD into the PS3?, how do you know for sure that the cheap one cant upgrade the HDD? How does anyone besides sony know what actually will be in teh PS3 at launch? what if, all this put aside...they let certain things leak, or even just ignore what everyone is speculating about the PS3...and when it launches...its totally different than what most people expected? what then? I know I've seen things that were said about certain products, what they were suppose to do, and how they were suppose to act...but when they acctually came out they were totally different. SO, untill it does come out...and I actually get to see the specs/play games with it, Ill believe what I see at Sony, E3, and everyday economics/management....I'll let you believe what you want...and we'll see what actually happens when its released....because frankly...im tired of all your negativities tword the PS3....its new technology, somewhat, no other console out there has the as much support, and what the hell did sony ever do to you? you act like it raped your mom.... lol. Till then...im ignoring these damn posts.... lol

sony decided to make the PS3 HDD upgradeable and everything else minus the HDMI can be added onto the cheap one for a lot of money after the fact.....

In response to earlier posts:
I so want the system playing PS3 games at E3. Most TVs are incapable of showing the full potential of blue-ray disks anyway. And Loker you are such a pawn - go make love to your xbox and thank god I never bought one.
