If you bought a Socket 939 3400+ from Tigerdirect w/ rebate about the same time as Dan or Loker pay attention. This particular production run seems to be prone to failure right about now. If you have one sell it and do it quick. I know this was a very popular deal back in the day, I think Chase and a few others still have one. This could explain frequent blue screens or unusual behavior.... Both Dan's and Loker's worked fine for years until they inexplicably restarted and no longer boot. Dan's did have some issues earlier this year, but it seemed to be doing better until this week... Like I said if you have one, sell it now!

I think its his experience, and my socket 754 3400 seems to be working good. Also the 3400 939's are actually 3500's that failed to clock at their proper speeds. AMD simply resold them as 3400's. This may explain why they seem to suck.
Also, why are you so worried, those are worth about $50 now new. Not even worth selling...

$50 is $50...
I dunno I figured I'd just give you all the heads up that all of them seem to be failing...

That is a common practice by many companies......they usually cut the bad portion off with a laser from the rest......so the failure rate should not be any higher just because they failed as 3500+.....unless of course someone was drunk when they were operating the laser....... ;D and they sell for $59 right now from newegg so you were off by $9! jeez what were you thinking.....

Loker is there anything you'd like to do with yours? I doubt we can send it back to tiger so what kind of warranty support does AMD have?

AMD is only one year.....the best bet is to put it on ebay as untested and as-is and get as much out of it as you can......

Correct those cpu's are oem so you have to return them to tigerdirect not amd. When i had to rma one they said you had to buy it with a heatsink in order to be valid. I didn't buy it with a heatsink, but i found a heatsink i had bought on a different order and they accepted that instead. (see tiger direct does have good support) i got the new one within 7 days and everything was good.

no it was a 754 3400+ and it died because loker's mobo killed it (due to that strange substance all over it)
