actually...in this time w/technology...id rather have a core 2 duo.... but let's see what amd has to offer before this spring that is where we differe......I am an AMD fanboy through and through so even if the technology is inferior now I would still buy one.....I think I asked Harvey that before and he agreed but I maybe mistaken so if anyone is really that curious go ahead and ask him......

I chose to go with AM2 over the Core 2 duo because I support AMD and I know there is a new monster in the works for AM2... I also perfered superior nvidia chipset features on the new AMD boards. I know AMD and I'm sticking with them on this one... Romain went Core 2 duo and while it's awesome my similarly priced AMD gets the job done just as well, with a better motherboard...

well I'm still stuck in the days of the old technology that is dual core AMD and it works fine for now but eventually I would like to open up quad Sli and DDR2 with the AM2 socket and by then it'll be cheaper. yet then agin by then it'll be the standards and I'll need it just to play some of the new more demanding games on the market. wow its a sad vicious cycle we are stuck in bieng the gamers of the world, where we are dependant upon new and upcoming technology just to keep with the times but never to get ahead in life. but its fun so oh well. I just fear the day when we drown in technology and become the old washed up gamers that say things like "I was petty good at videogames in my day" but look at our parents the look back at videogames and technology and say that Atari was king. Wow I hope I never get like that where I date myself back to the days of GoldenEye and Halo. LOL but hey its bound to happen eventually. I mean Seriously when was the last ime you saw an 80 year old playing COD? I know they are out there but its rare.

I can look back at the good old days of Atari and Coleco, but that doesn't prevent me from enjoying a few f the new ones from time to time. Each game has strengths and weaknesses. I can tell you that video games are also becoming much easier. I beat HL2 in hours, it took weeks of practice and repetition to be the classics on my Nintendo and Sega. If I could buy a Sonic2 or Super Mario3 game with more pixels you'd bet the hell I would. I don't care about all 3 dimensions or 16bit graphics, I just want a plot and some good old fun...
The most important aspect of any game is imagination/innovation. Even if the game has short comings elsewhere a truly original game will always be great. Unfortunately the market doesn't work this way and crappy sequels out sell the original and the annual sports game makes record profits. If you want to go down in history, you have to be the first to tackle the big obstacles. Look at FFVII, HL, Mario, Sonic, etc... Technology doesn't drive the game, the game drives technology. I think this is why the Wii is going to be so successful, but in the end may fail. The Wii may soon go the way of the Dreamcast a vastly superior game system that simply vanished.

QFE...what a sad day that'll be ...Though i've talked a few people into waiting and getting the Wii instead of the Xbox 360 PS: This winter/spring i want to upgrade my PC...thinking of either the 5000+ X2 or the FX-60...not sure yet...but that's all I really want to do, maybe a second or different video card...but as of now, I wont do anything computer wise till next fall...damnit im making this $2000 PC last! LOL
