I'm sure you've all been waiting for that announcement! I'll be out of school and sponsoring a LAN party for Saturday April 28th. If this is a very bad date for you please let me know ASAP so we can move it back.... I don't know anything about the schedules of other schools so please let me know. We'll have it at the barn and as always I'd like to collect $5 per person(anyone want to be in charge of collection?). I don't know what games we'll be playing, but please have Source updated and ready to go because I don't know what kind of internet connection we'll have out in the barn.

Source alone is $19.95, w/ HL2, HL2: Episode 1, & HL2 Deathmatch it's $40-50. You might want to wait until Episode 2 comes out, but you'll be lonely at the lan without it. lol
I have 1-2 spare accounts so you should at least use one of those. Assuming I remember the name/password. lol

well I have no problem buying games as I don't download them and own more legal copies of games than others that do download. (coug cough Barber) so thats not a problem i just can't justify going out right at this minute and wasting my money on an online game I can't play due to the fact that my house has no internet. Duh.... once we get LANs around where we actualy play games then I might consider buying new games......

I was going to suggest a minilan at your house this weekend so I could get you guys up to speed on Source. I think I still have 2 spare accounts I bought for people at the lan, just waiting to be used. I was going to steal Freds laptop as payment for use of my accounts, but then I remembered that he doesn't have a video card to use for himself anymore.... I could still get it installed on yours, but you'd have to take your computer here or to your parents... lol

I don't mind buying it, but i really have no idea of what to get. I keep seeing either hl2 soure or cs source. Is there an all in one deal? Barber mentioned something about getting the files from him and buying an account? I'm confused. If you could clear that up for me. That would be great. lol
And to ad to you saying about puttin git on arons, could you put it on my laptop then i could go from that to my desktop when i get a video card?

HL2/Source uses an online application called steam to keep itself up to date. Once you have the latest version with your "account" you can play the games in offline mode (single player or LAN) Counter-Strike Source is a very popular LAN game usually referred to as "source." There are also versions of other old Half-life mods redone in the Source Engine. Whichever package you choose make sure it includes Counter-Strike: Source(buy it alone for $19.99). Personally, I'd recommend the package containing Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2 Episode 1 (~$50). There will also be a package containing everything including Episode 2 to be released this year.

Anyone notice that you can give friends a 3 day trial of CS:Source now? I guess we'll finally be playing it again.... Also, I think Loker said he downloaded STALKER and C&C3 so those are sure to make the list as well.

I was thinking about it and for all those of you who want some movies..... I'll trade dvd per dvd, or for $5 you can have access to my entire computer. Very few of them have been compressed so you can watch them at full quality. Sound good?
Considering the cost of the hard drives and the relative cost of all those dvds I'd say thats one damn good deal! lol

You're going to go to jail now! Yep! While can't really sell you movies for legal reasons, I will accept bribes to walk away from my computer. As to the question of size, they simply don't make removable hard drives large enough! lol Mansmith, convince Fred to buy his 8800GTX now so you can use his laptop.

Is there any advantage to splitting the sensor bar so that one set of leds is on either side of the projector? I guess I should grab some candles.

yeah i think loker just modified his so it doesnt have to plug into the wii, i believe you can use a little tranformer or some battereries, no idea what voltage...

yeah I have a 6v 300Ma transformer for it....I think the Wii outputs 7.5v but given the fact that most transformers output more than what they are rated it all works out....

Anyone else notice that a 100,000 Wii's sold in the course of this discussion? Yeah, I figured you did something of the sort. But my question is could you get greater accuracy if you put some IR emitters at the edges for the screen? I haven't seen any documented information on the subject, or if it would even work....

I have seen documentation on the matter and there was no noticeable improvement.....

Also you can go ahead and delete Flatout....I now have Flatout 2 and it wins....
and a lot of my games are updated now....I went and found the newest updates for quite a few games and found new cracks....it should fix a couple of the issues we had in the past as well as in a couple of instances gives us an extra map or two....

I'd hope each would sell for at least $150. They're both on ebay with a few bids and ending this week. If you want one I can order one from newegg, but you have to have to be able to come up with the difference within a few weeks. You may also want to wait for the upcoming ATI release (prices may drop a bit).
Speaking of which - Mansmith could you get me pictures of the X1800XT and the part number as well. Thanks.
