OK so back to the issue of a place to have a LAN held I have a newspaper article about different places dedicated to gaming and their prices are ridiculous I'm talking $7 an hour so to hold one in a hotel conference room wouldn't be hard to charge up wards of $15 for an entire night of game play considering the competition is at $7 an hour. One of these gaming complexes is right near your School Harvey its called Digital Ops and is located on 525 E. Liberty in Ann Arbor the # is 734-994-1595 WWW.digitalops.com hours are 2 p.m. - midnight Monday through Friday, noon- midnight on weekends they charge $5 per Hour to set up your gear in a small dark cramped compartment similar to the size of a small closet. so basically you get high speed INTERNET and a place to play against friends but not much more. you should check it out sometime and give us a review. but still the fact remains that there at digital ops you get 3 hours for $15 and if you charged that at a hotel conference room you get an entire night. so if this was advertised properly you may get a huge LAN party and maybe also a little extra cash depending on the turnout and the actual price of renting the room.

It's always possible, but we don't like to associate with those kinds of places... I wouldn't be against renting someplace as long as I have a decent job to cover the possible losses.

OK i got it we could just recruit some kid with rich parents and have him talk them into putting up a barn with high speed INTERNET and then use it for LAN partys... OK so that probably won't work but i haven't herd any other ideas yet either our best bet is to talk to the people that bought the daycare and explain to them the past history of the LAN events and maybe they will let us borrow the day care for a night or at very least rent it to us for cheap... i think its worth a shot.. i mean who doesn't like a little extra cash anyway.. especially if you can make it while your sleeping. ;D

I was talking to vic last night.....he said he wanted a LAN...said its been a long time, I told him we wanted one too, and that the problem was that most people dont want to LAN unless there is inet.....he's the one that suggested port. He said he'd ask him, ill ask vic what port said the next time i see him.

The school usually does not approve of LAN Parties and reserves the right to deny use... Anyone know who goes to Wilson's LAN Parties? And if we really want to we still have everyone's contact information - somewhere... Vic and Port are only interested in Source or WoW so we'd have to make some sacrafices. This is very doable once I get out of school...

right harvey the school does not approve of LAN's....Staffen asked me and ben if it was ok and we talked for a couple of minutes but the general consensus (even from me) was it would be a bad idea because all it would take was one bitchy parent......also the portables are in use through out the summer anyway! the back ones were converted to offices and the front ones will be used for summer school and credit recovery....

someone told me the UAW has a union hall by American Axle that they rent out really cheap.....I doubt there is any HSI though! I think that is something we are going to have to accept though....we pry wont have HSI at a LAN anymore! so everyone needs to come prepared pretty much where ever we do it....
