Ok, so as I imagine you already know - I'm going on vacation next week. So rather than simply dropping off the face of the Earth like last year I've decided to provide you with some clues. Think of it as a real life game of Carmen Sandiego. I'm going to try to provide at least one hint every day until I depart. If I have internet access I'll try to provide pictures and maybe a few more hints. I'll provide my actual GPS coordinates once I get back so you can see how close you actually got. I guess for you guys the first task is to determine the region, then country, and hopefully narrow it down to the province/town/local...
Clue #1 - Even though its total area is slightly less than that of West Virginia, this coastal nation is home to what some consider to be the world's premier Ecotourism industry. It is estimated that it contains nearly 5% of the Earth's total biodiversity while occupying only 0.1% of its total landmass... (And no, it isn't Kazakhstan)

Well, Loker seems to be on the right track...
Clue #2 - Approximately one quarter of the country consists of protected forests and reserves and is estimated to be home to around 800 species of birds.

Clue #3 - It was the first country in the world to constitutionally dissolve its army, yet it is among the safest nations in the region. It also deserves distinction as being the wealthiest Spanish speaking country in the world, with poverty percentages lower than that of Spain and other developed nations and levels of urbanization that near those of Finland and Norway.

Clue #5 - We'll call this a bonus question: Walking along the beach at night is prohibited in most cases due to the risk it poses to this endangered species.

Clue #6 - This nearby national park includes 220 square kilometers of protected marine and is home to the largest nesting colony of leatherback sea turtles on the Pacific coast.
This one should narrow it down quite a bit, one to go boys and Derfs!

Clue #7 - This town primarily draws surfers and nature fanatics. The beach slightly to the North features two main breaks: Pico Pequeño and El Estero near the mouth of the estuary.
Get the name of the beach and you're golden. Bonus points if you can guess the hut.
