Ya know, i i would have thought that it would be about the opposite. The majority of the people i know are not very happy with their lives.

So, I just ran 10 miles and I'm not sure what spawned this, but I do believe it: I think it's a common misconception that third world countries want to be us. As I think there is more happiness to be had in a simple life than the high stress competitive world we live in, but that being said I think the opportunities of our reality far outweigh the disadvantages. I think the internet is the ultimate example of this; it's the accomplishment of our generation. Nothing before has given the individual so much power to be heard. It is the lever by which any man, woman, or child can move the world. I see wikipedia, podcasts, blogs, youtube, digg, flickr, and facebook revolutionizing the social landscape and giving the individual, the people, a platform to finally broadcast themselves. I also think that this resource is seldom taken advantage of and often dismissed, but individuals like Barack Obama may soon change the way in which the internet is viewed. I think Eisenhower may have discovered the power of TV, but Barack is the first candidate to change the game and I think if he wins his influence will again reveal a new more powerful medium all too often ignored. I live the internet and Barack is the internet's first candidate. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgkrX-NSt6Q
