Why does this never work like it's supposed to? Anyway we seemed to be headed off on a tangent so I tried to separate "Scenarios" into two threads top more accurately reflect the discussion... -HME
Anyone up for an entire weekend of intense paintball to see where on our own team you stand Ie. Captianall the way down to Soldier? that would be cool then we could have Derf's mom put stripes or somthing on our shirts to signify that. We would keep an updated Leader board at all times and 1 maybe 2 official refs would call and keep track of the confirmed kills where skilled kills like head shots are worth more points than unskilled ones such as an arm shot etc...this would determine a ladder of succession in case someone elses team (The Hicks) wanted to challange us later in a grudge match. IDK its a suggestion I havn't worked out all of the details yet.

We seem to have 3 primary members with some foot soldiers.... Maybe Romain will kick it up a notch now that he has his own phantom and I hope Barber is a little more active in the future, but right now it's the 3 of us... I think the game is best when we face off against each other. i.e. I had more fun going against you two last Sunday than any of the other games. And Saturday was a lot of fun too. But if we're going to be competing with others this isn't helping....
I don't think we really need "ranks" so much as mutual respect. We can have a tournament with everyone later in the year, but thats just for bragging rights. If we face off against another team, the most important thing is going to be communication and support of the other members. The three of us laid down some serious fire that first game of semi's on Sunday, but other than that we really didn't work so well together. My brother and his friends entered themselves as a team in a few tourneys and actually won some stuff, but I don't think we're there yet. Individually we're good, but we're not a team. (same thing as the lan party, I know you guys weren't around when we did some tourneys but it didn't end well.) Individually we kick ass, but as a team we get stomped, I think we could take Haminga and those guys, but nothing for real. If you want a team, practice starts 4/28.
I think part of the problem is we divide and conquer. We completely split up and 3 of us simultaneously try to surround and flank a larger enemy. I think we'd have better luck if we stuck close together and concentrated firepower on one or two people on the line (like when Mansmith and I took chase before my phantom exploded).... If we all rushed simultaneously I think we'd have much better results. So the question is should the three of us always be on the same team? I don't think that would really be as fun, but that would be the best way to form a team. We'd always be blue or something against all the reds that show up for the day, this is a common fairly practice in paintball, but is it best for us? I guess we need to decide on our priorities.

Well that brings yet another point to mind as yes we don't need ranks in the sequential order aspect as more or less we need titles that reflect our strong points as we all have our strengths and weeknesses I.E. (Fred can't really rush the front as fast as Harvey or me and also can't use as many objects as cover as size seems to be his disadvantage. Where as Harvey is a strong front player and rushes a lot but sometimes makes bold moves that result in his certian demise leaving the rest of the team stranded(as I finished you off on a bold move you made and the very next shot Barber was out because no one was there to cover him or warn him..The Two Shot Game ahh so infamous. LOL (as my weekness has always been giving away my position long before it was needed as I like to shoot first and ask questions later its an over confidence issue I know. LOL . but we all have our strengths as well. but this is what we need to figure out and use to our advantage in working together as a team as it stands right now I see Fred as a back player on the lookout and providing much needed cover fire, Harvey Rushing th front lines and eliminating the eminent danger, and That leaves me in the Middle playing all aspects of the field as I provide cover fire for Harvey but also advance with him to help him move through the field and in such an event that he is eliminated I take his spot as main front player and in such event that Fred is eliminated I take His spot as cover fire and lookout see how that works.. now what I would like to see is Romain and Barber Take the Middle spots in the field so I can move to front player with Harvey then and only then would we have a kickass Team. LMK What you think?...

It would certainly help and thats our 5.... Romain has been at it longer than Barber, but I think Barber is more aggressive so I think we really have 3 rushing, 2 cover. Fred doesn't need to rush, but I think he does need to get closer to the front. He always seems to be alone way off on the side and in the end thats not helping anyone.... It's not that he's not getting close, he's just getting close to the wrong people.
You have to admit though, given the cover on that side, I think the rush to the coop was really the best move. Had I gotten you as I should have, Fred would have quickly fallen prey yet again to my Sterling. lol
We do need to work on communication and general awareness of the situation. I'm probably not calling myself loud enough, it's more of a grumble under my breath, but it seems like everyone needs to improve a bit. Hands should be up, waving, and we need to keep teammates better informed. I have no idea what happened to Fred that first game with the Semi's, I just knew I started getting fire from that side. I think a better situational awareness and better communication is key to our future success. We definitely need an open radio channel or something.

So what should we call ourselves? Personally, my 2 favorite teams are Carter's Commandos and the Rabid Squirrels. While Punisher's Pumpers has nice alliteration, it's just not as catchy.
Maybe Popular Sovereignty, but then you guys would need to buy Sovereigns. lol

ha communication wise, i always feel like i'm the only one. it seems like im always yelling at someone, or trying to get locations. I remember when we went to splat, i had like an entire army of 13 yr olds and me and harvey led them into battle!

Yes and we need to settle on our plan of action and stratagy so we can practice in that format and get comfortable with our jobs and positions.
